January, 2019 Fitting of the Month

This beauty was recently removed from a McDonnell Douglas MD-87 aircraft. You have to love these authentic AN fittings. Who knows how many millions of pressure cycles this one saw over its lifetime, dutifully aiding the landing gear along its way up and down.

This fitting is stamped with the designation, "AP264," which, upon extensive research, appears to cross-reference to the AS designation of AS4410.

We will leave the analysis off here, and let you answer the deeper questions about this fitting. Site members, please leave comments below with any information and/or personal experience you might have with this fitting. At the end of the month we will publish a synopsis, and the guy or gal who provides the most information or best story about this fitting will receive the high prize of personal accolades and professional acclaim!

Your comment will disappear as soon as you post it, but don't worry; we'll see them.
