Union, NPS - NPT

This fitting can act as a UNION, in that it can join two NPT (or NPTF) pipe thread ends (such as pipes). More commonly, however, there is a hose involved somewhere in the mix. The swivel end is often designated as NPSM (National Pipe Straight Mechanical).
The fitting can be swivelled until tight.
